Is this the earliest in the college football season, that Northwestern and Illinois football teams met each other in the college football season, or was there another season(s) that Northwestern and Illinois football programs met up for a game even earlier. Today is October 1st, and the Northwestern Wildcats men's football team are in Champaign-Urbana, IL to play the Illinois Fighting Illini. Last year they met up on November 20th, 2010 at Wrigley Field where Illinois won 48-27, in Northwestern's 2nd to last game of the season, and this year Northwestern Wildcats are 2-1 and are coming off a bye week, where Illinois are 4-0 and they played last week. So they are really the favorite to win this morning's into early afternoon game. Their game is scheduled to be begin at 11:00 (central time), which is Northwestern's first true kickoff at 11:00 A.M. of the season, their first game against the season was also at the same time (central time) but they were on the East Coast to play Boston College. But is there any hope that Northwestern can pull off an upset and beat Illinois on the road, like Illinois did last year when they beat them on the road at Wrigley Field. I would say no, but you just never know it all depends on how both teams play today. So in your answer please give an answer to is this the earliest these two teams have ever met in a season, or if they have met even earlier, please give me a link for the source to your answer, and do you see any hope that Northwestern Wildcats can pull off an upset win over Illinois and why or why not?...
